Healthy volunteers needed for an Investigational Vaccine Study. A clinical research study to evaluate an investigational vaccine against infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae is now accepting study volunteers.
Streptococcus pneumoniae is one of the leading causes of bacteremia (S. pneumoniae in the blood), bacterial meningitis, pneumonia, and middle ear infections and continues to be a major global public health concern. Serious pneumococcal disease may occur at any age. Adults of advanced age, with certain existing medical conditions, or weakened immune systems, are at increased risk.
Eligible participants must be:
- Generally healthy adults, including those with stable preexisting diseases
- Men or women, 65 through 85 years of age, who have previously been vaccinated with Prevnar 13 more than 2 months prior to investigational production administration.
- Available for the entire duration of the study, approximately 12 months.
There will be no costs involved for eligible participants. Reasonable reimbursement will be provided for travel expenses.
