Healthy Volunteers – Clostridium difficile vaccine

A research study of an investigational vaccine for Clostridium Difficile (also known as “C. diff”) infection is enrolling healthy volunteers.  A “C. diff” infection can cause diarrhea especially in patients taking antibiotics, and can be serious.

This research study may be an option if you:

  • Are 65 to 85 years of age and generally healthy
  • Do not have any serious or unstable medical conditions
  • Are not taking any medications that can affect your immune system
  • Have not had a previous C. diff vaccine or past infection with C. diff.

Other entry criteria apply.  Please make sure to speak with a member of our research staff to ensure this research study is a good fit for you.

Qualified participants will receive study-related care, including:

  • Study Vaccine
  • Clinical assessment

Reimbursement for clinical trial-related expenses will be available to qualified participants.

Patient commitment:  7 months; 4 clinic visits and 1 Phone Contact.  On 3 of these occasions you will receive a vaccination, which could be the C. diff vaccine or a dummy (placebo) vaccine.
