Healthy Volunteers – Clostridium difficile vaccine
A research study of an investigational vaccine for Clostridium Difficile (also known as “C. diff”) infection is enrolling healthy volunteers. A “C. diff” infection can cause diarrhea especially in patients taking antibiotics, and can be serious.
This research study may be an option if you:
- Are 65 to 85 years of age and generally healthy
- Do not have any serious or unstable medical conditions
- Are not taking any medications that can affect your immune system
- Have not had a previous C. diff vaccine or past infection with C. diff.

Qualified participants will receive study-related care, including:
- Study Vaccine
- Clinical assessment
Reimbursement for clinical trial-related expenses will be available to qualified participants.
Patient commitment: 7 months; 4 clinic visits and 1 Phone Contact. On 3 of these occasions you will receive a vaccination, which could be the C. diff vaccine or a dummy (placebo) vaccine.
